Series II is an internal reaction of the artist about what’s happening in the world militarily and Abstractionism is the medium to show his process. Realizing the reality of many people in conflict zones, seeing their universes destroyed (dreams, desires, hopes, homes) and recognising the strong commercialization of violence generate worlds of thoughts in Shapoval that through painting and the layers of color manages to focus on the positive, a feeling of vulnerability and empathy with the millions of people whose rights were taken away. In search of healing, the artist uses the palette regaining life expectancy and desire to continue creating. There are multiple ways to expose the reality of a place, Ukraine in this case, one taken away by war. In the most sincere way, Shapoval tries to change this reality and human perception from a healthy and safe point of view.
